UK. The UK Prime Minister said that legal restrictions are set to end on 19 July, with all that entails within the country and for tourists travelling to Europe, including Greece.
The remaining restrictive measures in England are set to be lifted on 19 July and PM Johnson said that "we have to reconcile ourselves with the idea that there will be more Covid deaths."
The UK Government is expected to announce on Monday whether the four attempts to relax the measures have been successful. If so, masks will no longer be mandatory, social distancing of 1 metre will no longer apply and night clubs will be able to operate again.
The number of Covid cases is increasing rapidly and could reach 50,000 by Monday 19 July, said Johnson.
He also said that hospital admissions remain low compared with the previous wave and the majority of these are unvaccinated.
"If we can't open up in the coming weeks, then we have to ask ourselves when we'll be able to return to normality," said the UK Prime Minister.
