Greek President lays wreath at Tomb of Capodistrias

CORFU. The Greek President arrived in Corfu at 3p.m. yesterday to take part in the celebrations for the 21st May anniversary.
Ms. Sakellaropoulou met with the Ionian Islands university principals at the Ionian Academy in the evening and then went to Platytera Monastery for a special service and laid a wreath at the tomb of Ioannis Capodistrias, the first Governor of Modern Greece.
The President then returned to the Ionian Academy to attend a celebratory event "157 Years since the Unification of the Ionian Islands" organised by the Ionian Islands Regional Administration. The Minister of Interior Makis Voridis also attended representing the government.
