Easter with two masks and mandatory tests for priests

ATHENS. Based on the recommendations from experts the Government has announced strict measures for church services in Easter Week and for the Easter table.
Based on the recommendations of the specialist committee, the following measures will be in force:
- For church services in Easter Week the same measures will apply regarding the number of people allowed in church - one person per 25sq.m., adherence to health measures (proper ventilation, distancing, antiseptic for hands, mandatory use of mask). Outside the church people must maintain a distance of 10m between each other, follow health protocols and wear a mask.
- During services in Easter Week and on Easter Day two masks must be worn both indoors and outdoors.
- During Easter Week and on Easter Day there will be mandatory tests for priests, sextons, church singers and other personnel in the church.
- On Good Friday the following will apply: 1) the Epitaphio procession will be limited to the area immediately outside the church without members of the public taking part. 2) Paying respects to the Epitaphio will be outside the church. 3) Social distancing, mandatory use of masks and avoidance of crowding.
- In Easter Week curfew will begin at 22:00 and on Easter Day, after all the week's services have been completed, it will again be 21:00. From Monday 3 May curfew will begin at 23:00.
- On Easter Day there will be a special allowance for two families to meet up to a maximum of 9 people. Outdoors, two extended families can come together up to a maximum of 12 people. It is recommended that self tests be conducted prior to meeting up.
- Outdoor areas of catering establishments will reopen on 3 May observing health rules that include mandatory self-testing for employees twice a week.
- Junior high schools and primary schools will reopen on 10 May. Mandatory self-testing for Covid-19 will apply for all pupils, teachers and administrative staff. Health and safety rules will apply in classrooms.
- Travel between Regions will be allowed from 15 May.
