ATHENS. The Tourism Ministry is repeating what it did in 2020 and is looking for hotels to accommodate tourists that test positive for coronavirus.
As part of its plan to prevent the spread of Covid-19 whilst restarting the tourist season in Spring 2021, the Government has issued its first invitation for hotels to express an interest in offering temporary quarantine and accommodation areas for positive Covid-19 cases.
The hotels that are selected will be used exclusively to accommodate those that test positive for Covid-19 and their close contacts.
According to the announcement, the hotels must be at least 2-star or 2-key and be located in one of the following areas: Corfu, Heraklion and Chania in Crete, Santorini, Mykonos and Kos.
There must be facilities for the preparation of meals, which will be taken on trays and placed outside the rooms.
All the facilities must have been given the Health First certificate and strictly adhere to health protocols and special regulations for quarantine facilities.
Interested parties can obtain further information on the Tourism Ministry website
