Man dies in house fire in Agios Nikolaos, Korission

CORFU. An elderly man who lived with his wife in the village of Agios Nikolaos, South Corfu was found dead at home on Saturday evening.
The man was found by a relative. His wife was in the fields at the time. Fire Department sources say that it was found that there had been a fire in the house and the peobable cause of death was smoke inhalation.
According to the community president Nikos Lessis, the elderly man was a retired teacher. There were signs of a small fire in the room where he was sleeping and it is probable that he suffered asphyxia from the smoke. He also had burns but as yet, there is no police report.
