CORFU. Dr. Skiadopoulos is undergoing tests at Ioannina University Hospital, where he was admitted on Wednesday evening. Medical Association President Kaloudis told Enimerosi "We will judge when to express a view on the matter".

Corfu Medical Association President Kaloudis told Enimerosi, "We will judge when to express a view on the matter". He said that the board discussion on Wednesday night was about an "internal matter". He also said that the Association is following what is happening with the vaccinations as well as the incidents that were said to be due to the vaccination and is in contact with the hospital administration.

Dr. Spyros Skiadopoulos is undergoing tests at Ioannina University Hospital, where he was admitted on Wednesday evening. This is possibly the reason that the Corfu Hospital Administration has not yet (Thursday 18/2, 12:00) issued the statement it has prepared with the university professor present.

Hospital Director Leonidas Roubatis requested assistance

According to the Enimerosi report today, Thursday, the developments that created adverse publicity for Corfu and the hospital have caused alarm. The Administration has requested a report from the doctors involved and has also requested assistance from Ioannina University Hospital. Doctors from Ioannina came to Corfu immediately and were updated on the facts relating to the two cases that were publicised and their state of health following the second vaccination shot.

The medical opinion that the Hospital Administration has in its hands, first of all, rules out in both cases any connection with the vaccination with the symptoms that appeared and also rules out Guillain-Barré syndrome - which everyone has been talking about these days.

The statement from the hospital is being awaited with great interest. On Wednesday evening Dr. Skiadopoulos was taken to Ioannina University Hospital by ambulance, where he was admitted in order to undergo tests.

Deputy Minister Petsas: 'Jumping the queue' for the vaccination is unacceptable

Stelios Petsas said the incidents in Corfu are unacceptable. Speaking on Mega TV channel about 'jumping the queue' for the vaccination, the Deputy Minister for the Interior said that it was unacceptable and made it clear that there are reserve lists for vaccinations that are not given on time.

When asked whether there will be disciplinary and criminal proceedings against the doctor who gave vaccinations out of turn, he answered, "Of course".

It should be noted that responsibility for the vaccination programme at the town Health Centre - where the incidents happened - was removed from the doctor in question and a formal administrative inquiry has been ordered.
