CORFU. Something which should go without saying...is news!
In the aftermath of the tragic accident that cost the life of a 14-year-old boy Ionian Islands Regional Administration is doing something about street lighting - something which should go without saying. It isn't just now that the lamps need to be replaced and this isn't something that should be news.
Regional crews have been replacing lamps along Eth. Paleokastritsa Rd. and the side road over the last few days.

Lighting has also been provided in the pedestrian underpass in Kontokali near the hospital - another danger spot where lives have been lost when pedestrians tried to cross the road.
Something now remains to be done about the rainwater that fills the underpass every time it rains.
