Public gatherings banned ahead of Polytechnic anniversary

ATHENS. For the next four days the police have banned public gatherings of over four people.
Late on Saturday night the decision of Police Chief Michalis Karamalakis was announced - all public gatherings of more than four people will be banned throughout Greece ahead of the Polytechnic anniversary with fines of up to €5,000 for violations by organisers or participants.
The ban will remain in force from today, 15 November, at 06:00 until Wednesday 18 November at 21:00.
In the police statement it says:
"Due to the need to protect public health from the spread of Covid-19 with special measures, the Hellenic Police has decided to ban all public gatherings of more than four people throughout Greece from 06:00 on 15 November until 21:00 on 18 November."
Fines will be imposed for violations as follows:
- €5,000 for legal entities and €3,000 for individuals who organise public gatherings.
- €300 for individuals who take part in public gatherings.
