Minister of Health announces there will be national lockdown

ATHENS. The Minister said that the Greek PM and Government have accepted the recommendation from infectious diseases specialists.
In an interview with Nikos Hatzinikolaou on ANT1 TV the Minister of Health Vassilis Kikilias announced that there will be a national lockdown for a month.
"The Prime Minister and the Government have accepted the recommendation from the infectious diseases specialists," he said in the interview. "The recommendation from the Committee of Infectious Diseases Specialists and Epidemiologists is that there be a national lockdown for a month."
As to the timing, the Minister said "as soon as possible" but that the Prime Minister will be making an official announcement with details.
Regarding schools, Mr. Kikilias said that the experts recommended that junior high and high schools close but that primary schools remain open.
The Prime Minister will be making an official announcement tomorrow with Professor Sotiris Tsiodras.
