26 mask fines in Corfu in the last 48 hours

CORFU. Police in the Ionian Islands are continuing their checks and another two catering establishments in Zakynthos were closed temporarily.

Special police teams in the Ionian Islands are continuing their checks to ensure that the measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus are being adhered to.

Between Wednesday 9th and early on Friday 11th two people were arrested in Zakynthos.

On Wednesday night the owner of a catering establishment in Lagana, Zakynthos was arrested for violating the regulation regarding stansing customers. She was fined €3,000 and the business closed for 2 weeks.

Early on Thursday morning the person in charge of a catering establishment in Zakynthos was arrested for not closing at midnight. He was fined €10,000 and the business closed for 3 days.

During the same period 26 people in Corfu were fined €150 for not wearing masks along with 5 in Cephalonia, 1 in Lefkada and 1 in Zakynthos.

The charges brought against the two arrested in Zakynthos were passed on to the Zakynthos Prosecutor.
