The sudden death of Hans Antony Vermon, 62, has initially been attributed to natural causes. He was found dead at his home in Korakiana (Katomeri) just before midday on Wednesday.
His Corfu business partner had been trying to contact him for at least two days as he hadn't come to work since Monday. He then contacted the police, who had to break open the door of the house where the man lived alone.
Foul play is not suspected and the results of the autopsy are being awaited.
