Large fines for 2 businesses in Kavos and 1 in Zakynthos

CORFU. Ongoing checks by police to ensure that the measures to avoid the spread of coronavirus are being adhered to.
Three owners of catering establishments were arrested in the last few days.
- Early this morning (17/8) in Kavos for staying open after midnight. A fine of 10,000 Euros was imposed and the business closed for 3 days.
- On Friday night (14/8) in Lagana, Zakynthos for not observing the measures regarding the ratio between customers and square metres. A fine of 15,000 Euros was imposed and the business closed for 2 weeks.
- On Friday night (14/8) in Kavos for violating the measure prohibiting standing customers. A fine of 3,000 Euros was imposed and the business closed for 2 weeks.
There were another 16 violations in Corfu, 5 in Zakynthos and 2 in Lefkada for not wearing masks. Fines of 150 Euros were imposed for each violation.
Charges have been brought against the three arrested business owners which will be passed on to the relevant Prosecutors.
