Lockdown exit plan - the most likely dates

Gradual opening of businesses with continuous monitoring and review.

On Friday night a committee of experts from EODY (National Public Health Organisation) agreed on a proposal for the lifting of measures which will be presented to the Prime Minister today. The Prime Minister will then discuss the proposal at a meeting with Ministers and other colleagues.

According to sources, the Prime Minister will give an address on Monday 27 April in which he will present the timetable for the lifting of measures.

According to experts' recommendations to the Prime Minister, cited by ANT1, it is a 63-day plan which will be continuously monitored and reviewed.

27 April

The first date for lifting measures - as has already been announced, land registries, magistrates courts and courts of the first instance will open.

4 May

SMS to 13033 to end. Complete lifting of movement restrictions on mainland Greece except to the islands.

Public gatherings will be limited to 10 people and retail businesses to open except for department stores and large shops. Businesses must operate in adherence with the existing regulations. Personal health establishments and hairdressers will operate only by appointment and in adherence with the regulations.

11 May

The plan recommends that schools open for 3rd year high school pupils.

1 June

The plan recommends that the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court open as well as department stores and large shops. Sports facilities to open but only for individual outdoor exercise, adhering to existing measures. Opening of museums, archaeological sites and schools for 1st and 2nd year high school pupils and junior high school pupils.

15 June

The plan recommends that all remaining Public Services open as well as leisure parks, theme parks, playgrounds etc. In the same week remaining sports facilities to open along with event and festival facilities. It is also proposed that small holiday accommodation facilities, apartments and campsites open. Catering establishment to reopen with the prerequisite that tables and chairs be outside with a specified distance between them and no more than 6 people at the same table. Primary schools, colleges and universities to reopen.

29 June

The plan recommends that leisure and entertainment businesses open - bars, cinema, night clubs etc. There will be specific regulations and a maximum number of people per sq. metre. Hotels to reopen, but with a maximum limit on occupancy.

It is recommended that vulnerable groups continue to remain at home and work from home.
