ATHENS. 84 patients are intubated in Intensive Care Units.
The Ministry of Health announced that there were 2 deaths from coronavirus in Greece today, Wednesday 8 April, and 52 new cases.
According to the Ministry of Health representative Sotiris Tsiodras, Professor of Infectious Diseases, the total number of confirmed cases to date is 1,884, 57% of whom are males.
There have now been 83 deaths from COVID-19 in Greece - 60 males and 23 females. The average age is 77.
509 of the cases are arrivals from abroad and 708 are from contacts with known cases.
According to Prof. Tsiodras, 14 patients have been discharged from ICUs to date and 84 remain intubated, with an average age of 67. 80% are males and 77% have underlying conditions or are over 70 years of age.
Up to 8 April 32,528 coronavirus tests have been carried out in Greece.
