ATHENS. At the Ministry of Health΄s daily update Prof. Tsiodras said that there was still just a slow growth in the spread of the virus in Greece.
He began by saying that the good news is that the measures are working and went on to say that we must continue to adhere to them. "We should all behave as if we are carriers of the virus and stay in isolation so as not to spread it." "We are at the mitigation stage, he stressed.
Civil Protection Deputy Minister Nikos Hardalias made it clear that, "This Easter we will be saying our prayers at home in order to ensure that in the future we can all enjoy Easter together."
He announced that operations at the DEI unit in Ptolemaida will be suspended and the others in the region will be operating with a skeleton staff. He reiterated that all travellers from abroad have been registered so that they remain in quarantine for 14 days. The implementation of the measures is being monitored.
Prof. Tsiodras referred to the brave spirit of Manolis Glezos (who passed away today) and gave it as an example of the fighting spirit we need against the coronavirus pandemic.
