CORFU. First confirmed coronavirus case in Corfu.
The patient is said to be 62 years old and has been hospitalised at Corfu Hospital since Friday with pneumonia. He had travelled from Belgium and, due to concern about his condition, was hospitalised in a special hospital wing.
The tests were sent to the Pasteur Institute and, according to hospital sources, were confirmed positive for COVID-19.
He will be transferred to one of the two specialist hospitals in the Region, Ioannina or Patras, according to National Public Health Organisation (EODY) guidelines.
