CORFU. With valuable assistance from the scouts and the Municipal Councillor for Voluntary Works Spyros Neratzis.

Suspect cases of coronavirus will be examined outside the main hospital building from now on. Following new guidelines from the National Public Health Organisation (EODY), two large tents were set up today with the assistance of the Municipal Councillor responsible for Voluntary Work Spyros Neratzis, who provided tents from the summer camp, and the Scouts' Civil Protection, who set them up.

The tents will contain four examination rooms and the necessary health equipment and materials so that the patient, who be coronavirus positive, will not need to enter the Emergency Department - thus minimising the risk of the infection spreading.

The Emergency Department Director Konstantinos Nikas told Enimerosi that the hospital must completely adhere to safety regulations and take whatever measures possible to protect the doctors, nurses and auxiliary staff as well as all the other patients.

Patients who come to the hospital will first of all go to the kiosk at the entrance, where they will describe their symptoms. If it is thought that they need to be examined for coronavirus, they will be taken to the special tent area.
