Corfu travel agents and hospital to work hand-in-hand

CORFU. The new President of the Association of Corfu Travel Agents (AOCTA) has given assurances to the Hospital Director that they will provide full cooperation in the fields of health and tourism.
The new AOCTA President Spyros Halikiopoulos met with Corfu General Hospital Director Leonidas Roubatis.
According to AOCTA's press release, this was the first of a series of planned meetings of the new AOCTA President with organisations and public authorities and was considered to be a priority due to the current major issue of coronavirus.
Mr. Roubatis assured him that the hospital is in complete readiness to deal with coronavirus even though up to now there hasn't been a single case in Corfu. Three rooms - one in the Paediatrics Department, one in the Emergency Department and one in the Pulmonary Department - have been specially prepared and a negative pressure chamber is ready in the Intensive Care Unit, which can initially accept anyone with the coronavirus before they are transferred to Ioannina Hospital.
The Hospital Director said that there was no reason for panic, stressing the need for calm, to follow the guidelines from the National Public Health Organisation (EODY) and to restrict the number of visitors and escorts at the hospital.
Finally, Mr. Roubatis said that the ongoing problem is lack of personnel - which he hopes will be dealt with.
