South Corfu Municipality announces the cancellation of carnival events

CORFU. South Corfu Deputy Mayor for Culture Nikos Kourtesis says: "Our first priority is to safeguard public health".
"Following the joint Ministerial Decision from the Ministry for Health and the Ministry for the Interior and Civil Protection cancelling all carnival events throughout the country, we are in the unfortunate position of having to comply with the decision.
This year, for the first time, the new South Corfu Municipality had organised carnival events for local residents and visitors. Our first priority, however, is to safeguard public health from the spreading of coronavirus in our country.
Consequently, the carnival events planned by the South Corfu Municipality for 1 and 2 March have been cancelled."
