Survivors from sunken boat near Paxos being accommodated at Zalongo Town Hall

PREVEZA. The 21 survivors from the boat that sunk southwest of Paxos on have been accommodated in a specially area in Zalongo Town Hall since Saturday night.
The Mayor of Preveza and Municipal Councillors paid a visit on Sunday morning along with members of the public who brought food and clothing for the refugees.
There was also a meeting on Sunday morning with representatives from the Regional and Municipal authorities, Coast Guard, Preveza police and the hospital to discuss and coordinate the next steps.
According to the latest information, the boat set off from between Lygia and Riza in Preveza although this has not yet been confirmed by Preveza Port Authority, which is conducting the investigation.
On Sunday the search and rescue operation continued in the area where the boat sank with three Coast Guard vessels, a Navy helicopter and a team of divers.
According to statements from survivors, there were over 50 people on board the boat, which means that there are still over 20 missing - leading to fears that the number of dead could exceed 30.
