CORFU. When it took over the hospital administration the debt was 1.7m Euros - which rose to 4m during the period of cuts due to the Memorandum.

Corfu Hospital now has zero debt. The outgoing Director Phivos Kakavitsas told ERT Kerkyra that when he took over he inherited a debt of 1.7m Euros - which rose to 4m during the period of cuts due to the Memorandum.

The administrative philosophy was changed and pressure put on both the Ministry and the 6th Health Administrative Department and savings and fundings were achieved which led to the present situation.

A significant factor was the paying-off of debts to public services such as 1.2m Euros to DEYAK.
