CORFU. Traffic ground to a halt on Wednesday morning due to an improperly parked car in Vlaikou St. (Tafros New Fortress - Open-air market).
Traffic came to a halt for a long time this morning because a tourist coach couldn't get past a car parked illegally on a bend.
Traffic police came, removed the number plates and called for a vehicle removal truck.
The removal truck had to approach from the other direction as the road behind the car was completely blocked with traffic. As soon as it had hooked up the vehicle the driver, who was pregnant, came rushing up and explained to the police that she had had to visit the doctor urgently!
The police didn't need to take the car away as the driver drove off herself - without number plates and with a heavy fine!
