CORFU. The Corfiot and Diapontian Mayor had a meeting at the Ministry for Infrastructure to move two important water supply works (Chrysida and Potamos) forward.

Ms. Ydraiou met with the General Secretary at the Ministry for Infrastructure Antonis Kotsonis and other department members to discuss how two important water supply works for the Corfiot Municipality can be moved forward.

According to the Municipal press office, they are auxiliary projects for the dam project to upgrade the reservoirs, demineralisation units and new water supply networks firstly in Chrysida and then Potamos.

The Corfiot and Diapontian Municipality says that the completion of these projects will ensure unimpeded water supply for the Municipality.

The work in Chrysida is already ready to be put out to tender in 2019 and the procedure to prepare a study for the second stage in Potamos has been speeded up prior to the preparation of documentation for tenders.

Following the meeting at the Ministry, Corfiot and Diapontian Mayor Meropi Ydraiou said:

"Our goal is to improve the Municipal infrastructure and the most important is water supply. This has been a long-standing problem for Corfu and these two works which are now moving forward will ensure unimpeded water supply for the town and surrounding area."
