Mayor Meropi Ydraiou places emphasis on dealing with basic problems to begin with

CORFU. Municipal crews are busy with road markings.
The new local authority for Central Corfu and the Diapontia Islands is putting emphasis on dealing with basic everyday issues.
At the beginning of its term of office, following the washing of squares and streets and the washing and replacement of refuse bins, the local authority has sent out Municipal crews to paint road markings, which are essential for road safety, traffic and the safety of pedestrians.
Special emphasis is being placed on roads with schools, to provide safety for pupils ahead of the new school year.
Mayor Meropi Ydraiou said, "We are going to be making ongoing efforts every day to improve the public's daily life and to make the island more beatiful and human. These are simple, self-evident things that the Municipality can do but haven't been done for years."
