CORFU. Police are looking for a 32-year-old Albanian.
Police are investigating the attempted murder of a 38-year-old foreign national in Dassia and are seeking a 32-year-old fellow national.
The 38-year-old was found unconscious and with serious head injuries outside some houses in Dassia on Tuesday (30/7) night. A team from the Regional Criminal Investigation Unit went to the spot where the injured man was found along with Corfu Police who are investigating the incident.
Evidence was collected and it was discovered that on the evening of the same day a 32-year-old was arguing with the victim and then hit him on the head with a metal object, seriously injuring him.
A metal rod was found as well as a screwdriver and other objects which have now gone for analysis. The victim has been hospitalised at Corfu Hospital with serious injuries.
Charges of attempted murder have been brought against the 32-year-old and will be submitted to the Corfu Prosecutor. Corfu Police are conducting the investigation and the 32-year-old is being sought.
