Vidos Initiative to meet with Mayors and MPs

CORFU. The Vidos Initiative is planning to meet with the outgoing and incoming Mayors Nikolouzos and Ydraio to receive the latest updates and to present the reasons for its formation and actions.
The members of the Initiative have decided to form an Association of Persons and the legal procedure is being handled by former 3-term Corfu Mayor Yiannis Kourkoulos, a founding member of the Initiative.
The basic principles of the Association are:
- Vidos is a historical monument from Corfu's ancient and modern history which should be promoted and protected (Serbian Mausoleum, Russian Monument, juvenile prison and a place of recreation in the collective memory of all Corfiots).
- Vidos is a natural green extension of Corfu Town which anyone should be able to easily visit and enjoy.
- Vidos is an ideal location for camps for children, scouts, guides and international visitors and other non-commercial activities should also be gradually introduced.
- All business activities associated with Vidos - restaurant, cafe, shuttle boats - should operate in a way that is appropriate for the nature of the island and offer services that are available for all visitors.
