CORFU. Meropi Ydraiou ended her long statement with a quote from Ioannis Capodistrias after hugs and kisses from hundreds of friends as she arrived at the Press Centre.
In an atmosphere of celebration there were firecrackers and even fireworks outside as the second ever female Mayor in Corfu, surrounded by all the members of her party, thanked her colleagues and declared that she would work hard for the good of the community.
