CORFU. A historical aircraft - a ΄collector΄s item΄ - landed at Corfu Capodistrias Airport on Sunday afternoon.
According to information available to Enimerosi, the aircraft is part of a collection of historical aircraft belonging to a well-known TV businessman.
The aircraft is a Douglas B-26 Invader twin-engine bomber from the 2nd World War.
The Douglas A-26 Invader bomber (called B-26 between 1948 and 1965), was manufactured by Douglas Aircraft Co. and used during the 2nd World War. It was also used several times during the Cold War.
These types of aircraft now belong to plane-loving collectors. They are remarkably well maintained, are flightworthy and usually fly to take part in air shows in Greece and abroad.
The B-26 is departing for Florence on Monday morning.
