Taste of Ionian Island cuisine in Vienna

CORFU. Ionian Islands Week at the UN Offices in Vienna 11 - 15 February.

Employees at the UN Offices in Vienna will have the chance to enjoy the cuisine of the Ionian Islands this coming week.

Approximately 4,500 employees from 130 countries will have the opportunity to taste the unique traditional dishes from the Ionian Islands. There will also be promotional tourist material in a designated area of the restaurant - promoting the islands to a high economic level target group.

The Ionian Islands Week from 11 to 15 February is the culmination of the cooperation between the Ionian Islands Regional Administration via the Deputy Governor for Tourism Spyros Galiatsatos and the Greek Embassy in Vienna last year.

Both the Regional Governor Theodoros Galiatsatos and the Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism Spyros Galiatsatos will be attending the Ionian Islands Week.

In the UN employees' restaurant main dishes will be available for lunch prepared by chefs from the Ionian Islands and promotional tourist material (posters, leaflets, videos, etc.) will be available throughout the restaurant.

It is estimated that approximately 2,000 UN employees will come to the restauarant each day and along with the promotion undertaken by the catering company Eurest - on its website and with banners in the UN offices - the Greek Ambassador in Vienna will be giving presentations to all the UN Permanent Delegations.

The Ionian Islands Regional Governor will be holding a reception at the UN Offices to which the following have been invited: the charge d'affairs at the Greek Embassy in Vienna Nikos Sapountzis and other Embassy personnel, the Director of the Greek National Tourist Organization in Austria and Hungary Eleni Melita along with other personnel, airline representatives, tour operators and journalists.
