CORFU. Corfu once again made its mark this year with three significant accolades.

The Golden Toques (Chef's Hats) 2026 awards ceremony, held on Monday, March 9 at the Grand Hyatt Athens, confirmed the high gastronomic standard of Corfu. Among the country’s top restaurants, three Corfiot establishments received Greece’s most prestigious gastronomic distinction, highlighting the continuous evolution of the island’s culinary scene.

Etrusco (17/20 – Two Golden Toques): The restaurant of Ettore Botrini was named the best restaurant in Greece for the 14th consecutive year. Its cuisine, led by chef Fanis Hatzikrivos, is characterised by a blend of Ionian and Italian influences, high technical skill, and service at the level of a grand restaurant.

Venetian Well (15/20 – One Golden Toque): The restaurant in Corfu Old Town was awarded for its modern Greek cuisine. Under the guidance of executive chef Yiannis Vlachos and chef Spyros Agiou (with Kostas Koufalis taking over the position in 2026), its gastronomic approach reinterprets Corfiot specialties in a sophisticated way, in one of the island’s most atmospheric locations.

Makris Corfu (15/20 – One Golden Toque): At the restaurant of Domes Miramare, executive chef Petros Dimas was distinguished for his contemporary approach to ingredients. His cuisine stands out for its refined combinations, such as sea bass with cuttlefish tagliatelle and champagne sauce, offering a complete fine-dining experience.
