CORFU. The 52-year-old Albanian who confessed to the killing of his 28-year-old daughter Aggelina on New Year΄s Day appeared before the magistrate oon Thursday (3/1) evening.
He was given until Saturday to prepare his defence.
Mr. Noulezas who is acting as his defence lawyer said that his client had never previously assaulted - let alone sexually abused - his daughter and denied that the cause of the incident was her relationship with her Afghan boyfriend but rather his extreme love for her which had become obsessive.
According to Mr. Noulezas, what set things off was that the daughter's boyfriend called her while she was sitting down to eat with him on New Year's Day. He asked her to turn off the phone, which she refused to do and so the argument started.
Regarding the burial of the body, he said that as soon as the 52-year-old realised that his daughter was dead he completely panicked. Afterwards, when he realised what he had done he was filled with remorse and wanted to immediately give himself up.
