CORFU. The installation of the hospital΄s security and monitoring system has been completed.
Corfu Hospital Administration announced that the trial operation of the closed-circuit surveillance cameras outside the hospital was completed on 15 December.
The upgrading of the hospital's security is now complete following the installation of this system which is in line with current legislation and aims to reduce the incidences of theft. These have already been almost completely eliminated over the last year as the security measures have been gradually upgraded according to plan. The security system at the hospital now includes:
- Surveillance of the outside area and hospital vehicle entrances with CCTV.
- Closure of the main gate at night (vehicles can only enter at the emergency department entrance).
- Closure of the side doors to the main building. These were designed to allow exit from the building but can now be locked so that after working hours entry is possible only by the main entrances.
- Upgrading of the alarm system at the pharmacy and window security.
- Access to special areas (operating theatres, MTN) with the use of security codes.
- Continuous patrolling by the hospital security personnel with 22 specially designated spots inside and outside the building.
- 24-hour security presence at the A & E Department monitoring access following the entrance procedure.
