Slovakian Ambassador visits Corfu

The Slovakian Ambassador to Greece Iveta Hricova met with Deputy Mayor Giorgos Pantelios, standing in for the Mayor, this morning. At the courtesy meeting they discussed potential for cooperation between Corfu and Slovakia in the fields of tourism, culture and economy. Mr. Pantelios thanked the Ambassador for her visit and assured her that the Corfu Mayor will support any efforts that are made towards cooperation.

Ms. Hricova then met with the Ionian Islands Regional Governor Theodoros Galiatsatos.



Matters of mutual interest which can lead to further cooperation between the Region and the Slovakian Ambassador were discussed along with mutual links between both parties.

Some of these were the potential for export of local products to Slovakia with the collaboration of the Chambers of Commerce on each of the Ionian Islands, the collaboration of the Ionian University with Slovakian universities in innovative ideas and projects, support for tourism and promotion of and support for artistic performances co-organized by Slovakian and Ionian cultural bodies.

At the end of the meeting the Regional Governor presented the Slovakian Ambassador with local products and engravings of the Ionian Islands.
