CORFU. Ionian Islands Regional Governor Rodi Kratsa expressed her condolences for the death of Stratos Tagatidis.
"Ionian Islands Regional Administration has made the ESPA Funding Programme available to the Ambulance Service (EKAB) for the provision of 9 ambulances. We would ask EKAB and the Greek Government to utilise this immediately," said the Regional Governor in her condolence message.
Statement from the Regional Governor:
"It was with great sadness that we heard of the sudden death of our dear Stratos Tagatidis - our charismatic fellow citizen, who was a successful businessman and an active member of the Corfu community and the unions.
On behalf of all the Regional Administration, we offer our deepest condolences to his family and friens. We will remember him and honour his memory.
Stratos' death yet again, unfortunately, highlighted the chronic, multiple problems faced by Corfu with regard to public health and the saving of lives.
The needs for the ability to respond immediately to incidents and the reinforcement of EKAB with equipment and human resources are clearly highlighted as is the need to deal with the serious traffic problems and congestion, especially during the tourist season.
The Ionian Islands Regional Administration has made the ESPA Funding Programme available to EKAB for the provision of 9 ambulances. We would ask EKAB and the Greek Government to utilise this immediately with the provision of necessary equipment and personnel.
We, as always, will assist and actively support the provision of whatever is necessary for public health and the protection of lives."
