CORFU. Two hunters made a tragic discovery on Mt. Pantokrator on Tuesday.
Whilst walking through rough countryside they came across a man lying on the ground bleeding. The 37-year-old man had tried to commit suicide by stabbing himself with a knife the previous day. The hunters said that the man was in a dreadful condition. They took him to Corfu Hospital in their vehicle and so saved his life.
Corfu Hunting Association issued the following statement: "We offer our warm congratulations to Civil Protection Secretary at Corfu Hunting Association Giorgos Kaloudis, who aided the unfortunate man on Mt. Pantokrator.
His intervention saved the life of a young man (by suicide), giving first aid and taking him to Corfu General Hospital.
Well done Giorgos and his brother Socrates, who showed once again that humaneness and social conscience are basic characteristics of the hunting family."
