CORFU. The demonstrations against the Lefkimmi landfill continue.
Residents demonstrate on an almost daily basis with frequent clashes between them and the police. After four months of 'co-existence' the nerves of not only the residents, but also the police are on edge and the Panhellenic Police Federation has decided to respond with their own protests.
On Sunday evening a large number of Lefkimmi residents took part in yet another demonstration with the slogan "Rubbish and riot police - out of Lefkimmi!"
