A second Lefkimmi resident is pressing charges for physical violence against his person although this time it was not at a demonstration. The complainant, who posted a photo with his facial injuries on social media, claims that he was the victim of an unprovoked attack from a police officer on Tuesday night. He was taken to Lefkimmi Health Centre and then made a statement and pressed charges against the policeman.
According to police sources, the police are conducting a criminal investigation and have also ordered a formal administrative inquiry. A medical examination has also been ordered both for the complainant and the police officer against whom the charges have been brought.
