Heartwarming meeting with the Serbian delegation at the Old Town Hall

CORFU. A Serbian delegation is visiting Corfu for the annual memorial events for the Serbian soldiers that lost their lives in the First World War.
The Mayor of Corfu Kostas Nikolouzos met Negovan Stancovic, Deputy Minister for Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs at the Old Town Hall this morning. At the courtesy visit they talked about the long-lasting relationship of friendship and cooperation between Corfu and Serbia.
Mr. Stancovic said that the annual memorials, apart from their historical aspect, are also educational and pass on the knowledge of events from generation to generation.
The Deputy Minister was accompanied by the Consul Milan Vukosavljevic and the honorary Consul Spyros Mastoras as well as other staff.
At 1pm the Mayor met the Serbian Ambassador to Greece Dusan Spasojevic and this was immediately followed by a visit from a delegation of Serbian Veterans. There was a heartwarming and touching exchange of gifts.
