2nd Corfu International Choir Festival & Competition begins on Wednesday

CORFU. 37 choirs and 1,500 singers from 20 countries and 3 continents will be in Corfu 12-16 September.
The Festival is being organized by Corfu Municipality, Ionian Islands Regional Administration, the Ionian University, the Association of Corfu Choirs, Corfu Events Organization and Interkultur and is being financially supported by the Ministry of Culture.
The organizing committee gave a press conference today.
In Greek:
37 choirs and 1,500 singers from 20 countries 3 continents (Argentina, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Esthonia, Finland, Great Britain, Greece, Holland, Israel, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Thailand and Turkey) will be coming to Corfu - the musical island - for a celebration of choir music and will have the opportunity to exchange experiences, make friends and discover Corfu and its culture.
Apart from the competition, the Festival will also include free performances by all the choirs in various locations throughout the town.
The 1st Festival took place in 2016 and this year is the second of what is hoped to become established as a regular event.
