Statement from Lefkimmi Popular Assembly regarding the injury to the 32-year-old

The political responsibility for his injury lies with the local authorities and the government. They have created the volatile situation in Lefkimmi with their decision to take all the island's waste to the unsuitable facility in South Corfu and to impose this decision with violence by using riot police and turning the area into an occupied zone.

We call on all Corfu residents to support the resolute political struggle for the salvation of Lefkimmi and Temploni and for a clean island - against the business plans for the degradation of our lives.
