2nd Corfu Emerald Cup - Open Water Swim at Mouse Island

CORFU. The event, which takes place on Sunday 2 September, is part of the 2-day Corfu Emerald Cup, which also includes stand up paddleboarding (SUP)along the same route on Saturday 1 September.
The event is being held under the auspices of the Municipality of Corfu and the major sponsor is the Angsana Corfu Hotel (a Banyan Tree Resort).
Anyone over 17 years of age can take part in the race,
Route
Vlacherna - Mouse Island - Benitses - a distance of 3.5km. There will be 5 marker buoys and at the halfway point there will be a boat with water and isotonics.
Rules
Participants must be good swimmers, in good physical condition and have plenty of stamina. The organizers will take all the necessary safety measures and there will be an escort team with lifeboats, lifeguards and a doctor but ultimate responsibility lies with the participants.
Registration
Registration is free.
The following are required:
- A signed official declaration (Ipefthini dilosi).
- Those under 17 must have the signed permission of their parents or guardians.
- Medical certificate.
Swimmers must be at the shore at least 1 hour before the race to ensure that all the procedures are carried out and they will then be transferred by boat to Vlacherna.
The first three will receive prizes.
