CORFU. For all children to be able to attend school with dignity.
Once again The Smile of the Child is holding a nationwide campaign to collect school supplies to cover the needs of all children, allowing them to start the school year with dignity and a smile!
In a few days schoolchildren and their families will need to obtain a lot of expensive school supplies for the new school year. For some families it is a time of happiness and a new start, for many others, however, it is a time of anxiety and worry about how to provide their children with what they need.
Last year The Smile of the Child were able to provide school supplies for 3,806 schoolchildren thanks to the overwhelming response from the public!
This year even more help is required from everyone due to the insecure situation of thousands of families and their children throughout the country!
With everyone's help we can ensure that no children are left without the supplies they need in order to start the new school year with dignity and a smile.
On a daily basis, The Smile of the Child, through its Child and Family Support Centres which operate in many parts of Greece and through its activities, supports thousands of children and their families who live in or under the threat of poverty.
School supplies required:
- School bags for primary and secondary
- Notebooks for 3-4 subjects
- Notebooks (blue and coloured)
- School atlases (geographic and political)
- Crayons and wax crayons
- Drawing pads and water colours
- Felt tip pens and coloured pencils
- Pencils
- Pens
- Erasers
- Pencil sharpeners
- Correction fluid
- Paintbrushes
- Pencil cases
- Ring binders (large and small) with extra sheets of paper
- Folders with elastic
- A4 paper
- Transparent envelopes
- Glue (sticks & liquid)
- Plasticine
- Transparent self-adhesive book covers
- Small scissors
- Geometry instruments (rulers, dividers etc)
The collection points are at the Child and Family Support Centres throughout Greece.
