CORFU. The film is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the allies victory in the 1st World War and the huge losses suffered by the Serbian army.

Zvonko Simunec, co-producer of the film and TV series 'King Petar's Socks', visited the Mayor of Corfu Kostas Nikolouzos yesterday morning. The film script is based on the historical novel with the same name.

The film is a Serbian, French and Greek co-production dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the allies victory in the 1st World War and the huge losses suffered by the Serbian army. A large part of the film takes place in Corfu and shows the selfless assistance given by the people of Corfu to the Serbian soldiers while they were on the island between 1916 and 1918 as well as the strong ties that were formed between the two nations when developments led to Corfu becoming the Serbian Army's 'Salvation Island'.

The production team is planning to set up an Information Centre based in Belgrade which will present a weekly programme showing the cast and crew during their stay in Corfu. The team is also planning to produce a documentary 'Corfu: Our Sister Island Forever' to show the long historical friendship between the peoples, which will be shown in Serbia and other Balkan countries.

Mr. Simunec updated the Mayor on the filming that will be taking place in Corfu from 26th September to 4th October and requested the Municipality's assistance and support during the filming.

The film premiere will be held in Belgrade on 11th November and will then be shown in Paris, London, Moscow, Athens and finally Corfu.
