CORFU. Tense scenes with exasperated residents.
There were tense scenes on Thursday night on the road leading from Sinarades to Ai Gordi. According to information Enimerosi received, residents were exasperated by the mountains of refuse that had spread to the middle of the road, blocking access to the beach, which is now available only by the Garouna road.
Several days ago residents had put up banners saying ' Don't put out any more rubbish - the road will be blocked' and there was a car 'on guard' next to the refuse piles. The road was blocked for about half an hour before the police came and traffic resumed as this is an area with a lot of tourist businesses and visitors.
