Corfu Cleansing Services: Don΄t put out your waste!
CORFU. The Cleansing Service has requested the public to avoid putting out refuse for 3 days.
The Announcement
Statement from the Corfu Municipal Cleansing and Recycling Services:
Great efforts are being made to clear public areas of the huge piles of refuse that have built up. However, due to the following factors:
- The increasing amount of refuse being put out daily
- The limited capabilities of the Urban Solid Waste processing facility at Temploni
- The Centre for Sorting Recyclable Materials is not accepting recycled waste as it includes organic residue - due to it being mixed up with the piles of refuse
there are still huge piles of waste in public areas.
For this reason, we would like to ask the public to avoid putting out more refuse for three days and keep waste and recyclable materials on their own property in order to allow the piles of refuse that have already built up to be cleared.
The Corfu Municipal Cleansing and Recycling Services will issue another statement after the three days.
