What was discussed at the Capodistrias Network meeting

The Capodistrias Network held its General Assembly this morning at the Old Town Hall with the following members: Corfu (Network President 2018-2019), Aegina, Nafplion and Famagusto. Koper-Capodistria from Slovenia was not present.

The digital application developed by the Friends of the Capodistrias Museum and funded by Corfu Municipality was presented at the meeting. The app was presented by the museologist Julia Saramieva, assistant to the Museum Director, Daria Koskorou, and member of the Project Team that developed it.

There was also an update and discussion about the process of extending the Network to include other European towns as well as operational issues. Finally, the data and conditions necessary for the creation of a Cultural Route, 'Ioannis Capodistrias' in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture was discussed, which would operate within the framework of other similar Council of Europe Cultural Routes.

Present at the meeting were: the Mayor of Corfu, Kostas Nikolouzos; President of Corfu Town Council, Maria Mouzakiti; the Mayor of Aegina, Dimitris Mourtzis; Aegina Councillor for the Network, Giorgos Tsatiris; Network representative for Nafplion, Androniki Tzomaka and Famagusto Deputy Mayor, Chrysanthos Zannetos.
