Collaboration between Ionian Islands Region, Italian Tourism Organization and ANEK Lines

CORFU. 50 Italian tourist package suppliers visit Maganisi in Lefkada as well as Fiscardo in Cephalonia and Afales in Ithaca.
The Ionian Islands Region, the Italian Tourism Organization and the shipping company ANEK Lines collaborated to organize the visit of 50 tourist package suppliers from Italian travel agencies to Maganisi in Lefkada, Fiscardo in Cephalonia and Afales in Ithaca. The visit took place from 10 – 12 May.
Ms. Diana De Simone from the Italian Tourism Organization and Ms. Ilaria Volpini, executive from ANEK Lines, accompanied the visitors. They were greeted by Deputy Regional Governor, Spyros Galiatsatos, at the port of Igoumenitsa and then departed for Lefkada in a coach provided by the Region for their visit.

“The visitors expressed their admiration of the natural beauty and the sights in Megalonisi, Lefkada and then took a sea cruise to see the island of Skorpios and visit Fiscardo in Cephalonia before enjoying a swim in Afales, Ithaca.
The Ionian Islands Region also offered them dinner, at which the following were present: the Deputy Regional Governor for Lefkada, Theodoros Halikias; Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism and Island Policy, Spyros Galiatsatos; Deputy Mayor for Tourism in Lefkada, Athanasios Perdikaris; President of the Lefkada Hoteliers Association, Manolis Thermos and the President of the Federation of Rental Apartments, Dionysis Gazi.
Both this delegation and the previous delegation of 35 Italian journalists in Lefkada, 27-29 April – which was also co-organized by the Ionian Islands Region, the National Tourism Organization and ANEK Lines – give a significant boost to Lefkada and Megalonisi in the Italian market. This will not only mean an increase in quantity, but also in quality, to the benefit of the island’s residents.”
