Corfu Choir΄s May programme - culminating in the Hymn to Liberty (National Anthem)!

The Preparatory Section II together with the Children's Choir will hold a concert with the Corfu Philharmonic Society Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Alki Balta.

They will perform the following works: 'Peter and the Wolf' by Sergei Prokofiev and 'The Lazy Dragon' by Giorgos Hatzipieri.

Church of St. George, Old Fortress - 20:30

Anniversary Concert organized by the Municipality of Corfu on the occasion of the anniversary of the union of the Ionian Islands with Greece at which there will be a performance of the polyphonic version of the 'Hymn to Liberty' by Nikolaos Halikiopoulos-Mantzaros with the poetry of the National Poet Dionysios Solomos.

This will be the first complete performance of this particular version of the work based on the saved version of the Hymn to Liberty in the doctoral thesis of Konstantinos Zervos.
