CORFU. SYRIZA MP Kostas Pavlidis met with former contract staff from the Municipal Cleansing Services, who spoke to him about the operational problems which have been created by the recent recruitment process.

They also discussed the issues of permanent staff, the injustices that have been observed in the temporary lists published by the Public Recruitment Office (ASEP), the judicial progress in the matter of emergency services and the lack of personnel until ASEP issues the definitive list.

Mr Pavlidis told them that the temporary lists had been issued in the belief that the information provided in the electronic applications submitted by candidates was correct and that whatever injustices existed would be resolved in the final evaluation, when data in the electronic applications is cross-referenced with the supporting documentation.

The MP expressed his support for their efforts to remain in work until the final personnel lists are issued so that there would not be a problem of insufficient Municipal Cleansing personnel. From the temporary personnel lists only 1 in 3 of the recruits have taken up their position, whilst the others are waiting for the final list to be published.
