Epitaphios - Good Friday in Corfu

The Epitaphios services and processions in Corfu start at 12:30 in the early afternoon and end at 11:00 at night. All the churches organize their processions in order and they each include their own musical groups, choirs, schools, scouts and other participants.

The choirs from the larger churches and in particular the Metropolis, along with the Municipal Choir solemnly chant the 'Eulogy' while the accompanying philharmonic bands play Albioni's Adagio ('Old' Band), Verdi's Marcia Funebre ('Blue' Mantzaros Band) and Mariani's Sventura and Chopin's Funeral March (Capodistrias Band).
